Acoustic Drum Recording in Utah
Live acoustic drums are one of the hardest things to get right in a home studio. Art City Sound was built around that problem — a live room, a studio kit that is always tuned and mic’d, and an engineer who has been behind the kit since 1987.
Art City Sound knows drums
Three tracking spaces include a live room designed for full-kit sessions — not a converted bedroom with blankets on the walls. You get real bleed, real air, and the option to pair drums with bass, guitars, and vocals in the same pass when the song calls for it.
The house kit is a DW Performance-series maple with Sabian, Zildjian, Paiste, and Wuhan cymbals. Bring your own snare or swap pieces as needed — the room and mic collection are ready before you walk in.
Drums for every project size
Full rock bands can track live in the room. Singer-songwriters can lay down a scratch guitar/vocal and have Jason add drum tracks — or sit in on a session while the kit is built around your song.
Microphones from AKG, Audix, Audio-Technica, Miktek, Shure, Royer, Slate Digital, and more give us options for aggressive rock, intimate songwriter arrangements, and everything between.
